About the Cool Water rose

Cool Water is bred by Schreurs, a Dutch breeding house, and remains one of the few widely available lavender roses in the international cut-flower trade — a color segment with far fewer options than reds, whites, or yellows. Its large, circular bloom opens slowly to reveal a high petal count, and the variety is notably almost thornless, making it easier and faster to handle in processing. At Flores el Progreso, Cool Water is grown in our Nemocón, Cundinamarca greenhouses, where consistent altitude and light conditions support its distinctive cool-toned color.

Because true lavender roses are relatively rare in the market, Cool Water is often used as a signature or accent color rather than a bulk filler — buyers looking to differentiate an arrangement or offer something beyond the standard red/white/yellow palette turn to it specifically for that reason.

Did you know?

Cool Water is almost thornless — a genuine handling advantage that speeds up processing and reduces the risk of damage to other stems in a mixed bouquet, on top of its distinctive lavender color.
